At middle age I decided to finish my college degree, which I had
started 25 years earlier. I love history and literature and threw myself into
it, graduating magna cum laude from the College of Charleston in 2000 with
an A.B. Degree in History. I did a bachelor's essay for History Departmental
Honors entitled "Economic Arguments and Justifications for Southern Secession,
1850s to 1861." I won the
Outstanding Student Award for the College of Charleston History Department in
2000 as well as History Departmental Honors, and the year before won the American History Award sponsored by the Rebecca Motte
Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. I
have 15 hours toward a masters in English from the University of Charleston, but
am not currently taking courses because I am concentrating on writing and
publishing, and real estate.
I am divorced. I have two GREAT boys from
a previous marriage, Trey and Travis, 21 and 16, who are exactly
like me (love the South, love sports, especially running). The three of us
have a long string of Cooper River Bridge Runs (10K, 6.2 miles) to our credit and this
year (2010) we will run our 15th in a row! I started Travis when he was two-years-old and
registered as an official runner on my shoulders the whole way. We were
featured in the 2005 Bridge Run magazine for our then 10-in-a-row streak. Even though I run four or
five times a week, BOTH boys
have been beating me for years in the Bridge Run and I'm damn proud of it!
I am a writer and can do any kind of
writing, from ghost writing an autobiography, to writing a company history, to
technical writing, scholarly research and writing, and children's
stories. I am also a book editor with references. Please contact me anytime for
writing or editing work.
I also do professional video and
DVD production
having shot, edited, and produced all 77 volumes of
The History and Literature of the South. I also shot
and produced 80 volumes of World History 101-102
(www.WorldHistory101-102.com) with Dr. Clark G. Reynolds,
who was a professor at the College of Charleston at the time and one of the most
prominent naval historians in the country. I also shot and produced
Gone But Not Forgotten and am
currently producing a videotape
and DVD of the history and burial of the first crew of the Confederate
submarine, CSS Hunley, which took place in 1999.
I am pursuing the production of videotapes
and DVDs on fascinating topics of Southern history and literature. If you have
an interesting lecture or music program you have made, please let me know
because I might be able to turn it into a marketable commodity that will benefit
lovers of Southern history all over the world. If you have something coming up,
I might be able to travel and shoot it if you can cover expenses. Because I am
producing this web site at my own expense, I can not pay a royalty, but if you
want to get your talk or program on tape or DVD, please write and let's discuss it.
The best way to contact me is by e-mail at
BonnieBlueStaff@comcast.net. My mailing address is P.O. Box 13012, James Island, S.C. 29422-3012.
Hope to hear from you soon!
